A little of both (Ideal Diner, North Minneapolis)

When I began this project in December of 2003, I was broke and isolated. One the few things I had left was my camera, and for four years this tool washed, dried and folded my psychological laundry in plain sight of anyone who might happen across this site.

When that camera stopped working last month, the pause gave me a chance to reflect and realize that this project has run its course and fulfilled its purpose. I have a challenging job to focus on now, and people I enjoy who I should make more time for. Someday if it makes sense to do this again, I will.

Bum not, however! Photographs will continue to appear on the front page, and will be changing nearly everyday again, beginning one week from now. Most often it will be something already in this journal, but occasionally there will be something new. I want to fill all the gaps in the archive and will be showing you those as they are added. There are also many more slideshows on the way, and who knows what else. If you have enjoyed this narrative, keep watching.

Let's make something else.

Yours,
